HI ADVIACRE PEOPLE!
Today I briefly met with Charlie, played all my topical songs I have had memorized for years...and worked on some new stuff including...
The Nearness of You (the Norah Jones version) and Chopin's Prelude in E minor.
See you next time!

November 12th Practice: #adviacre
Today I briefly met with Charlie and after discussing the rock band rehearsals, I worked on Canon in D and the Wedding March. I also played over and reviewed all my memorized songs. Could we meet and then get some new stuff to play? :)

September 26-Adviacre Entry #2
September 26, 2014
Today, I spent my advanced instrument study time working with Zach Alan on our duet that we plan to perform on November 5th at the winter assembly. I would love to spend some time with you and Zach so that we can really work over all the harmonizing to make sure nothing sounds off key. We haven't really spent any time formalizing what I am playing on the piano, or how long we are spending on each transition, so it would be great if we could find a time before November 5th to work it all over.
As you know, I have also been working on Pachelbel's Cannon that you transposed in C for me. I am basically finished with the first two pages. However, as I attempt to play on, I feel like some of the notes are wrong. Could we look this over at our next meeting? For example, on the third page, there is one part where my left hand is written to play a D and the right hand a C. When I try to play it, it sounds very odd. It is also hard for me to find a piano recording of the specific transcription we have.
Thank you so for much all your support and I can't wait to continue working!
Best,
Adviacre Executive,
Nadya

Apologies for the delay in my post. It took me way too long to figure out how to use blogger. However, youtube videos came to my rescue earlier today.
This week, I have worked a lot on Canon in C (you transposed this for me at our previous meeting) and also rehearsed my keyboard parts from Rock Band and worked over the other songs I requested (Lay Me Down by Sam Smith and Can't Help Falling in Love with You).
The following is a list of my progress with each individual piece:
Canon in C-I have the first page down at a slower tempo than most recordings, but I have listened to the song a lot and am getting a hold of the melody. I have found that listening to recordings is a very helpful way for me to learn songs (maybe because I was originally trained by ear).
Big Love music: I worked on the wedding march and left hand for the Billy song (wedding march?). However, I am a bit confused still on the part keyboards are suppose to be playing for "You Don't Own Me". Also, are all keyboards going to be working on "Bewitched" together? On a separate note…I have also been listening to the four songs I will be singing with the told rock band over and over again and am preparing for our next rehearsal!
Requested Songs: These songs are extremely easy to learn for me and I am immensely enjoying singing along.
That's all for now!
Quick question: are we supposed to be posting on our blogs right before our meeting or after?
Thank you so much,
Nadya
